Sprout has been teething (pushing out her last baby molar) for the last three days and we all are worn out. We have been stuck in the house, primarily on the couch, since it became her chosen place to get through this. While we normally spend our entire days together as it is, the last three days we have been inseparable. I held her, I worked while I held her, we read books and overdosed on kids TV (a rare occurrence in our household, but Sprout milked the situation for all its worth).
Since Wednesday we have gone through high fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. Sprout lost her appetite completely, along with her cheerful countenance and smiles. I even tried bribing her with Coconut Bliss ice cream just to have her eat something and smile, and it worked…for a split second.
We spend the entire three days holding, snuggling, and Sprout taking over our ENTIRE bed at night. For some reason Sprout believes that the best way to sleep with her parents, when she gets a chance to do so, is to spread herself horizontally across their bed, pushing them to the edges, hanging on for their dear lives throughout the night, because no matter how many times they readjust her, she always goes back to her favorite way of sleeping with them… But, I must be delirious from being tired–I’m talking about myself in third person.
Now that she is on the mend and her appetite is coming back (this mama is praying hard that it is, because my poor kid has barely eaten anything over the last few days), we are ready for sunshine, outdoors, plain family fun and some good eating. I even lined up a few dishes I am thinking of cooking over the weekend, and I want to share them with you, so you can share them with your loved ones too.

Delicious, mouth watering and easy to make.
Takes 10 minutes to make and is perfect for the season, since it abounds with fresh herbs!
Easy, fresh, unforgettable!
Absolute favorite of mine. I am known for making a pot of it and eating all of it by myself. It is a Russian dish, and while it does not look like something you might want to try immediately, if you are not from my home country, unless you are very adventurous, the taste profile of it is so explosive and addicting that once you taste it, you will fall in love with it forever.
For dessert, since Sprout LOVES chocolate, I am thinking about spoiling her rotten and making her these AMAZING brownies.
Enjoy your weekend! Let me know if you make any of these recipes. Take pictures if you do, and share them under this post.
