Guilt Free Apple Pie? Sign me up!
No, really! My husband LOVES apple pie, but as great as my recipe is, I have not been able to make it 100% Elena (me, that is) 😉 approved. Yet, I do make it for him occasionally. It is not only delicious, but SO MUCH better than anything you would find in stores.
A few days ago, however, Chef AJ shared her APPLE PIE Fruit SMOOTHIE recipe in one of Vegalicious groups. It happened that I had almost all of the ingredients, so with a few adjustments I whipped it up. My dessert loving Hubby enjoyed it, and I… well, I had three servings and loved it! This is certainly the kind of apple pie I wanted and approve of. So, here is the recipe, give it a try!
Apple Pie Fruit Smoothie Recipe
- 2 cups Almond Milk
- 2 cups Frozen Peaches
- 1/2 cup Unsweetened Apple Butter
- 1 Frozen Banana
- Dates, to taste (optional)
- 1Tablespoon Alcohol-free Vanilla Extract
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
- Ice
Blend in a high speed blender and enjoy!
Modifications: I did not have apple butter (as in apple sauce), so I used one apple, cored, and blended; I did not have frozen peaches, so I used fresh peaches, and instead of 1 frozen banana I added 2, thus avoiding any need for ice.
